When will results come out?
The court system states that results are typically emailed about six months after the examination period has concluded. The testing window runs through October 7, 2026, so a six-month lag points to results arriving around spring 2027.
We want to be honest here: “about six months” is the court system's own wording, and no exact results date has been published. Treat spring 2027 as the expected window, not a guaranteed date. We will update this page as soon as anything firmer is announced.
Looking for the 2025 results, or exam 45-841 / 45-843?
Those are the two previous Court Officer-Trainee exams — 45-841 (upstate, 2024–25) and 45-843 (downstate, 2025). Their results are long out and their eligible lists are active right now, which is where current appointments are coming from.
The part that catches people out: both of those lists expire when the 45-857 list is established, expected in the first half of 2027. If you are on 45-841 or 45-843 and have not been reached by then, your standing on that list ends — and sitting exam 45-857 is how you stay in the running. Passing a prior exam does not carry over.

First half of 2027
The eligible list is established
Everyone who passed is placed on one statewide ranked list. This is also when the prior lists, 45-841 and 45-843, expire and become inactive.
Over the following years
Canvassing & screening begin
The list is canvassed in strict score and rank order as vacancies come up. Candidates who are reached receive a conditional appointment and move into physical, psychological, medical and background screening.
